CJC-1295 with DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) is a synthetic peptide analog of growth hormone–releasing hormone (GHRH) engineered to extend biological activity through enhanced stability and prolonged half-life. By binding to albumin via its Drug Affinity Complex, CJC-1295 maintains sustained circulation in the bloodstream. Its primary mechanism of action is the stimulation of the anterior pituitary to increase endogenous secretion of growth hormone (GH), which subsequently elevates hepatic and peripheral production of insulin-like growth factor 1 (IGF-1). This extended duration of action allows for more consistent GH and IGF-1 elevation compared to shorter-acting GHRH analogs. The "DAC" complex is a chemical modification that binds to albumin (a common protein in the blood), which significantly extends the peptide's half-life to about 6 to 8 days. This results in a continuous, steady elevation of GH and IGF-1 levels with less frequent dosing (typically once or twice a week), rather than the short, pulsatile bursts seen with the version without DAC (which has a half-life of around 30 minutes).
